Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons Butter (We use Sweet Cream Salted)
  • 8 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 package Instant Pistachio Pudding (3.4 oz)
  • 8 cups Rice Krispies Cereal

Instructions

    1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan on medium-low heat.
    2. Add the Mini Marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continually until they are completely melted.
    3. Take the pan off the heat.
    4. Add the package of Instant Pistachio Pudding to the Marshmallow/Butter mixture and stir until combined.
    5. Add the Rice Krispies Cereal to the Pistachio Marshmallow mixture and gently fold until the cereal is completely covered.
    6. Spoon the mixture into a 9x13" pan.  (We line the pan with a piece of parchment paper to make it easier to remove the treats from the pan when they are cooled.)
    7. Lightly press the mixture into the pan.
    8. Let the Rice Krispie Treats cool in the pan.
    9. Remove the treats from the pan and then cut them into squares.

Notes

Storing/Freezing Instructions
Rice Krispie Treats will last 2-3 days at room temperature in an air-tight container before they start to get stale.  You can extend that timeline a few days if you store them in the refrigerator and then take them out about 30 minutes before you eat them.  They freeze up great though and that is what we do if we want to make these ahead of time for a party or a family gathering.  They defrost very quickly and taste great once they are defrosted.  You can keep them in the freezer for up to a couple of months.
