Butterscotch Rice Krispie Treats

Our easy-to-make Butterscotch Rice Krispie Treats will have everyone asking for seconds. This rich and decadent twist on a classic dessert is just what you and your family and friends have been craving.

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted)
  • 8 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 cups Butterscotch Chips
  • 8 cups Rice Krispies Cereal

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan on medium-low heat.
  2. Add all of the Mini Marshmallows and 1 1/4 cups of the Butterscotch Chips to the melted butter and on medium-low heat, stir the mixture until both the marshmallows and the butterscotch chips completely melted.
  3. When the marshmallows are melted and the butterscotch is fully combined with the marshmallows, take the pan off the heat.
  4. Add the Rice Krispie Cereal to the marshmallow mixture and gently fold the Rice Krispie Cereal into the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Spoon the mixture into a 9x13" pan.  (We line the pan with a piece of parchment paper to make it easier to remove the treats from the pan when they are cooled.)
  6. Lightly press the mixture into the pan. 
  7. Sprinkle the top of the treats with 1/4 cup of Butterscotch Chips and press them lightly into the treats.
  8. Let the Rice Krispie Treats cool in the pan.
  9. Remove the treats from the pan and then cut them into squares.
