Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons Butter (We use Sweet Cream Salted Butter)
  • 6 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 8 cups Reese's Puffs Cereal
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (Milk or Semi Sweet)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan on medium-low heat.
  2. Add 6 cups of Mini Marshmallows to the melted butter and on medium-low heat, stir the mixture until the marshmallows are completely melted.
  3. When the marshmallows are melted, take the pan off the heat.
  4. Add the Reese's Puffs Cereal to the marshmallow mixture and gently fold the cereal into the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Spoon the mixture into a 9x13" pan.  (We line the pan with a piece of parchment paper to make it easier to remove the treats from the pan when they are cooled.)
  6. Lightly press the mixture into the pan.
  7. Let the Marshmallow Treats cool in the pan.
  8. Place the Chocolate Chips in a plastic bag and melt them in the microwave. Snip off a tiny corner of the bag and use the bag to drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the treats.
  9. Let the chocolate drizzle cool and harden.
  10. Remove the treats from the pan and then cut them into squares.

Notes

Storing/Freezing Instructions
Marshmallow Treats will last 2-3 days at room temperature in an air-tight container before they start to get stale.  You can extend that timeline a few days if you store them in the refrigerator and then take them out about 30 minutes before you eat them.  They freeze up great though and that is what we do if we want to make these ahead of time for a party or a family gathering.  They defrost very quickly and taste great once they are defrosted.  You can keep them in the freezer for up to a couple of months.
