This Easy Apple Crisp Recipe features apples baked with cinnamon and topped with a crunchy oat-filled buttery topping. The perfect fall dessert.

Ingredients

Apple Filling

  • 6-7 Granny Smith Apples (peeled, cored and cut)
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice

Topping

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted)

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and chop apples into fairly big pieces. Add chopped apples to a medium-sized bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice.  Add sugar, cinnamon, and flour to apples.
  2. Gently mix until the apples are covered with the sugar and flour mixture.
  3. Pour the apples into a 9x13" baking dish and set them aside.
  4. In a separate bowl mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Whisk together.
  5. Cube the cold butter and add to the mixture.  Blend together with a pastry cutter or a fork.
  6. The mixture will be crumbly.
  7. Sprinkle the mixture over the apples in an even layer.
  8. Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 40-45 mins until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
  9. Serve the Apple Crisp hot out of the oven, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a swirl of whipped cream.

Notes

Apple Crisp can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. It tastes best if you re-heat it in the oven while covered with aluminum foil.
