This adorable Mickey Mouse Cake could not be any easier to make and is perfect for a Mickey Mouse Party or as a special treat for any Mickey Mouse fan.

Ingredients

  • Cake - you can use a layer cake or a sheet cake
  • 1-2 batches of our The Best Buttercream Frosting (depending on size and number of layers of the cake)
  • 1 bag Hershey's drops candy
  • 1 bag regular M&M's
  • 1 bag M&M Minis

Instructions

  1. Start with 1-2 batches (depending on the size of your cake) of our yummy The Best Buttercream Frosting.  Creamy, delicious, and super-spreadable, this is our most popular recipe for a reason!  You can find detailed instructions on how to make our Buttercream Frosting here.
  2. Make a cake.  We made a two-layer chocolate cake from a box mix.  We have lots of tips and tricks on how to make a cake mix taste just like homemade!
  3. Using a spreader, we covered the cake in Buttercream Frosting. No fancy frosting decoration for this cake, just a simple but delicious layer of Buttercream Frosting is all that is needed.
  4. Our cake decoration could not be easier. You'll need a bag of Hershey's Chocolate Drops, a bag of regular M&M's, and a bag of M&M Minis.
  5. For the brown Mickey heads, use the Hershey Drops for the Mickey head and then add two regular M&M's as Mickey's ears.  Place the first one somewhere in the middle of the top of the cake.
  6. For the red Mickey heads, use a regular Red M&M for the Mickey head and two red M&M Minis as the ears.
  7. There is no right or wrong here, add the brown and red Mickey heads all over the top of the cake. We added a random combination of red and black Mickey Mouse heads to the top of the cake.  This is so easy, it would be a great cake decorating project to do with the kids.
  8. Don't forget to decorate the side of the cake as well.  Super adorable and so easy!
