Ingredients

  • 9 cups Kellogg's Rice Krispie Cereal
  • 9 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 9 tablespoons Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted)
  • Food Coloring - Red, Crimson, Black
  • Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutter

Instructions

You will need to make three batches of Rice Krispie Treat mixture - one batch with no food coloring, one batch of red and one batch of black.  Our Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutter is pretty big so we only made three Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats from each of the individual batches.   For each batch, we used 3 tablespoons of butter, 3 cups of marshmallows and 3 cups of Rice Krispie Treats.

Directions for each batch:

  1. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a large saucepan on medium heat. Add 3 cups of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until the marshmallows are melted and take off the heat.
  2. Add food coloring as needed (see chart in notes section below.)
  3. Add 3 cups of Rice Krispie Cereal and stir until the cereal is completely covered in the pink marshmallow mixture.
  4. Spoon the three Rice Krispie Treat mixtures into rows on a large cookie sheet, press them down into flat layers and let cool for approximately 10-15 minutes.
  5. To make the Rice Krispie Treats we used a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter that we found on Etsy.  There are many sellers on Etsy who use their 3D printers to make cute Mickey Mouse cookie cutters.  We ordered one and got it within a week. It was the perfect shape and very reasonably priced.
  6. Cut out the Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats and let them cool before storing them.
