Ingredients

  • 6 cups Kellogg's Rice Krispie Cereal
  • 6 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 6 tablespoons Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted)
  • 1/2 batch The Best Butter Cream Frosting
  • Food Coloring - Pink, Red
  • Candy Monster Eyes
  • Peppa Pig Cookie Cutter

Instructions

  1. Melt 6 tablespoons of butter in a large saucepan on medium heat. Add 6 cups of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until the marshmallows are melted and take off the heat.
  2. Add 2 drops of Wilton Color Right Pink Food Coloring to the melted marshmallow mixture and stir until combined.
  3. Add 6 cups of Rice Krispie Cereal and stir until the cereal is completely covered in the pink marshmallow mixture.
  4. Pour the Rice Krispie Treat mixture onto a lightly buttered cookie sheet. Press the pink Rice Krispie Treat mixture into the cookie sheet and let the Rice Krispie Treats cool for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Make a half batch of our delicious The Best Buttercream Frosting to pipe on the decoration for Peppa Pig treat.  Separate the half-batch of frosting in half and color one bright pink and the other red.
  6. To make the Peppa Pig Rice Krispie Treats we used a Peppa Pig cookie cutter that we found on Etsy.  There are many sellers on Etsy who use their 3D printers to make Peppa Pig cookie cutters.  We ordered one and got it within a week. It was the perfect shape and very reasonably priced.
  7. Cut out the Peppa Pig Rice Krispie Treats and let them cool and set a bit (we waited about 30 minutes) before decorating.
  8. Use the pink frosting to create an outline around Peppa's face, ears, and nose.
  9. Place a small dot of frosting on the backs of two Candy Eye Balls (you can find them in the baking section of most grocery stores and big-box stores these days) and press them onto the Rice Krispie Treat. Then outline the eyes with pink frosting.
  10. Using the red frosting, add a circle for Peppa's cheek, a small smile, and her nostrils.
  11. Allow the frosting decoration to harden a bit before you store them.
