This American Flag Rice Krispie Treat is a great dessert for a 4th of July party - easy to make, easy to transport and everyone loves Rice Krispie Treats.

Ingredients

  • 9 cups Rice Krispie Cereal
  • 9 cups Mini Marshmallos
  • 9 tablespoons Butter (Sweet Cream Salted)
  • Wilton Color Right Food Coloring - Red, Blue, Pink

Instructions

  1. We used a 9" x 13" glassing baking dish to build our American Flag Rice Krispie Treat.  We lightly buttered the pan before we started.
  2. Take the 2 1/2 cups of blue Rice Krispie Treat mixture and spoon it into the upper left-hand corner of the pan.  Press it down to form a small rectangle.  The rectangle should go about halfway down the short side of the pan and about a third of the way across the length of the pan.
  3. Make up the 4 cups of Red Rice Krispie Treat Mixture and start building the red stripes.  There should be two red stripes aligned with the top and the bottom of the blue flag piece as shown in the pictures above. Add a third red stripe along the bottom of the pan.
  4. Now make up the 2 1/2 cup batch of white Rice Krispie Treat mixture and fill in the open spots in the pan. One white stripe on the top half and one white stripe on the bottom half of the flag.
  5. Now you have an American Flag Rice Krispie Treat.  But we need some stars! We decided to make our 4th of July dessert into the Betsy Ross version of the American Flag.  We took thirteen small pieces of white Rice Krispie Treat mixture and placed them in a circle on the blue area of our flag.
