This Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar recipe takes a classic cookie dough and transforms it into a much easier to bake cookie bar. Same great taste but much less time in the kitchen!

Ingredients

  •  1 cup Softened Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted)
  •  1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  •  1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  •  2 Large Eggs
  •  2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  •  1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  •  1/2 teaspoon Salt
  •  2 3/4 cups of All-Purpose Flour
  •  2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a mixer.
  2. Add one egg and the vanilla and mix until combined.
  3. Add the remaining egg and continue to mix.
  4. In a separate bowl, add flour, Baking Soda, salt, and whisk together until combined.
  5. Add the flour mixture a bit at a time and mix until it is completely incorporated. (Do not overmix.)
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spoon the cookie dough into a 9x13" baking pan lined with parchment paper.  Press the cookie dough down until it is evenly dispersed in the pan.
  8. Bake the cookie bars in an oven preheated to 350 degree oven for 22-25 minutes or until golden brown on the top.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

To get a smooth and even cookie bar, we placed a piece of parchment paper over the raw cookie dough in the baking pan and used the back of a measuring cup to even it out in the pan.

Two Sisters Tip: Before you put the baking pan in the oven, lightly press a handful of extra chocolate chips into the top of the dough for a prettier cookie top!
