Candied Pecans

Candied Pecans

Sweet, salty, and delicious, these Candied Pecans are covered in sugar and cinnamon, and vanilla and roasted in the oven to perfection.  Simply divine.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of Pecans
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 large Egg White
  • 1 teaspoon Water
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300.
  2. Line a Baking Sheet with a Silpat liner or aluminum foil.  (Parchment paper is not ideal because the paper will shift around when you try to toss the pecans during the baking process.)
  3. Combine the Sugars, Cinnamon and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  4. Beat the Egg White, Water and Vanilla Extract until stiff peaks form.
  5. Add the pecans to the egg mixture and gently toss to coat the pecans.
  6. Add the Cinnamon/Sugar mixture and toss to coat the pecans.
  7. Spread the pecans evenly on the Baking Sheet.
  8. Bake 45 minutes. Toss the pecans every 15 minutes to make sure they bake evenly.
