We take our The Best Ever Rice Krispie Treats recipe and make colorful Rice Krispie Easter Eggs treats that both kids and adults will love.

Ingredients

  • 15 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal
  • 15 tablespoons Butter (We use Salted, Sweet Cream Butter)
  • 15 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • Wilton Color Right Food Coloring

Instructions

You will need to make five batches of Rice Krispie Treat mixture - one for each of the five Easter Eggs colors:  Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and Pink.

Directions for a single batch of Rice Krispie Easter Eggs

  1. Melt 3 tbsp. Butter in a medium pan.
  2. Add 3 cups of Mini Marshmallows and stir until the marshmallows are completely melted.
  3. Take the pan off the heat.
  4. Add food coloring and mix.
  5. Add 3 cups of Rice Krispie Cereal and mix until they are completely covered with the marshmallow mixture.
  6. Allow the Rice Krispie Mixture to cool slightly.
  7. Grab a handful of the Rice Krispie Treat mixture and then use your hands to form the Easter Eggs.
  8. Allow Rice Krispie Bites to cool.
  9. Repeat for the other four Easter Egg colors.

Notes

Food Coloring Formulas
Yellow - 3 drops of Pink Wilton Color Right Food Coloring
Pink - 4 drops of Pink Wilton Color Right Food Coloring
Purple - 3 drops of Pink and 2 drops of Blue Wilton Color Right Food Coloring
Green - 4 drops of Yellow with 1 drop of Blue Wilton Color Right Food Coloring
Blue - 4 drops of Blue Wilton Color Right Food Coloring

Storage Instructions
Allow the Rice Krispie Easter Eggs to cool before you store them. Store them in an airtight container and they will last for 3-4 days before they start to get too stale.  You can freeze them for up to 3 months.
