Our Valentine's Day Cupcakes are so easy to make - you'll just need cupcakes, food coloring, and our delicious Buttercream frosting to make this pretty Valentine's Day treat.
Ingredients
- 12 Homemade Chocolate Cupcakes
- 1 Batch The Best Buttercream Frosting
- 12 Cupcake Liners
- Cupcake Pan
- Food Coloring - Red, Crimson, Pink
- Decorating Bags
- Wilton 1M Open Star Decorating Tip
Instructions
- Make a batch of chocolate cupcakes.
- Make a batch of our Best Buttercream Frosting recipe.
- Split the batch of frosting into thirds. The first third we left white and we tinted the other two red and dark pink.
- Using a Wilton 1M Open Star frosting tip, make one and a half circles of red frosting around the edge of the cupcake.
- Next, use the Wilton 1M frosting tip with the dark pink frosting. Apply one and a half more circles of frosting but these should be a little smaller than the red frosting layer.
- Finally, add a final two circles of white frosting, this time swirling the top up into a peak.
Notes
Frosting Portions
Red: 1 cup
Dark Prink: 3/4 cups
White: 1/2 cup
Frosting Colors
Red: 6 drops of Red food coloring and 3 drops of Crimson food coloring.
Dark Pink: 2 drops of Pink food coloring and 2 drops of Red food coloring
White: No food coloring.
