Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add vanilla and continue to mix.
  3. Add flour one cup at a time and mix until thoroughly combined.
  4. Split dough into two portions.
  5. Color one portion Red and one portion Green.
  6. Using your mini Christmas Cookie Cutters as a guide, form a log with each of the portions of cookie dough. You need the log to be wide enough so you can make a cut-out with your cookie cutters.
  7. Wrap the cookie dough logs in plastic wrap and then refrigerate it for at least one hour.
  8. Take the dough logs out of the refrigerator and allow them to set for 15 minutes.
  9. Cut a slice from each log then use a mini cookie cutter and cut out a shape from the cookie slice. Flip the cutouts and press them back into the opposite colored cookie.  You now have a two-tone Holiday Butter Cookie!
  10. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until set. Do not over bake.
