Sugar Babies Popcorn
Sugar Babies lovers, this one is for you! Salty popcorn covered with marshmallow mixture and chewy caramel Sugar Babies candy. This Sugar Babies Popcorn is mmm … mmm good.
Sugar Babies and Popcorn .. my favorite go-to movie theater treat. Why not combine these two delicious tastes into one yummy sweet popcorn treat? Well we did … and it tastes amazing. Make a batch of this unique popcorn for your next family movie night and you will be the star in your family’s eyes.
Start with approximately 10 cups of popcorn. Make sure you get out all of the un-popped kernels. You don’t want to bite down on one of those! We pop our popcorn on the stove (you can find our directions on How to Make Perfect Popcorn here) but you can use air-popped or microwave. Once you have the popcorn made, salt it liberally. It is so nice to taste the salty with the sweet marshmallow coating. Not quite like Kettle Corn but close.
To make the Marshmallow Mixture for the Sugar Babies Popcorn, melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium sauce pan. Once the butter is melted, add 3 cups of mini marshmallows. Stir until the marshmallows are melted. Turn off the heat as soon as the last marshmallow has melted.
While you are melting the marshmallows, melt one cup of Sugar Babies candy in a non-stick skillet on Medium Low heat. Stir occasionally as the Sugar Babies melt.
Pour the melted Sugar Babies into the marshmallow mixtures and stir until they are completely combined.
Slowly pour the Sugar Babies/Marshmallow mixture over the salted popcorn.
Gently fold the marshmallow mixture in with the popcorn until the popcorn is mostly covered. The amount of marshmallow mixture you want to add is really up to your own taste. The more you add, the stickier the popcorn will be so we suggest that you add it a bit at a time, stir the popcorn and give it a taste before you add more.
Now pour the popcorn onto a cookie sheet covered with foil or a silpat liner.
Here are the mix-ins that we added to our Sugar Babies Popcorn. We added additional Sugar Babies and Red, White and Yellow sprinkles. Did you know you can easily make your own sprinkles. Find the recipe here!
Now it is time to add the rest of the Sugar Babies ingredients to the Sugar Babies Popcorn. Don’t wait too long after you pour the popcorn onto the cookie sheet. You want the marshmallow mixture to still be warm and sticky. Sprinkle the Sugar Babies and sprinkles. We also melted an additional handful of Sugar Babies and drizzled the melted candy over our Sugar Babies Popcorn.
Our family loves this popcorn so it has never lasted longer than a day at our house. This popcorn definitely tastes best right after it is made but will keep for a few days in an airtight container. The popcorn is a little chewier the next day because it absorbs some of the moisture from the marshmallow mixture but it still tastes good.
Sugar Babies Popcorn – another fun version of our Sweet and Salty Popcorn. This popcorn treat gets a Two Sisters Crafting thumbs way up! Try it at your next Family Movie Night … you won’t be sorry!
