Our Frosted Easter Cookies are sweet, chocolatey, and covered with our deliciously creamy Best Buttercream Frosting in colorful Spring colors.  These yummy frosted cookies are easy to make and super delicious to eat.  This festive cookie would be a great dessert for Easter, Mother’s Day, a Spring Brunch, or just as a special treat for that chocolate-lover in your family. Step 1: To make the chocolate cookie dough, mix together the dry ingredients (including the cocoa powder) and set aside.  Cream together the butter and white and brown sugar.  Mix in the eggs and vanilla.  Finally, add in the dry ingredients 1 cup at a time.

Baking Instructions

Step 2: Take a spoonful of cookie dough and roll it into a ball.  Slightly press down the cookie dough ball.
Step 3: Bake the cookies in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool.

How to Make the Buttercream Frosting

Step 4:  While the cookies are cooling, make a batch of our amazing The Best Buttercream Frosting.  We separated the frosting into three portions and then tinted the frosting green, pink, and purple using our Wilton Color Right Food Coloring in the following combinations:

Green – 3 drops of yellow and 1 drop of blue
Pink – 3 drops of pink
Purple – 3 drops of pink and 1 small drop of blue

Step 5:  Once the cookies have cooled, gather them up along with the frosting and some pretty sprinkles. It is time to frost some Easter Cookies!

Step 6: Use a knife to frost the Chocolate Cookies with the pink, green, and purple The Best Buttercream Frosting. Before the frosting had a chance to set, we sprinkled on a few colorful confetti sprinkles to our Frosted Easter Cookies! So pretty!

  • 1 cup Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted)
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2/3 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2/3 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • The Best Buttercream Frosting
  • Confetti Sprinkles
  • Wilton Color Right Food Coloring - Yellow, Pink and Blue

Instructions
