Our Great Grandmother and Grandma were the queens of the jello salad.  We had one with almost every holiday meal when we were growing up.  This Pineapple Banana Fluff was Laurie and my all-time favorite.  All our lives we thought this fluffy sweet concoction that is chock full of Bananas and Pineapple and Whipped Cream was one of those jello recipes. It was only after they were gone and we had to start making it for own family dinners and barbecues that we realized it wasn’t made with jello at all. So not jello. Definitely not a salad. I guess it is more of a fluff.  Whatever you call it, it is super delicious and reminds us of family and the holidays and you should try it!

Expert Tips and FAQS

What kind of Canned Pineapple should I buy?

This recipe tastes best with Canned Pineapple in Heavy Syrup versus the type canned with the lighter Pineapple juices in order to infuse the fluff with the ultimate pineapple flavor.

How long will it stay fresh?

This is a dessert that will only last about 24 hours, after that the bananas start to brown.  It will still taste delicious but it isn’t very appetizing so we recommend making this on the day you will serve it.
