Easy Peppa Pig Cake
Our Peppa Pig Cake is a cute and easy birthday cake for a Peppa Pig Party and we have all the step-by-step directions you will need to create it for your birthday girl!

Our Peppa Pig Cake was a last-minute idea that turned out to be our favorite dessert at our Peppa Pig Birthday Party and it could not have been easier to make. All you need is a cake (any shape will do), some of our delicious Buttercream Frosting, M&M’s, and 30 minutes and you’ll have a birthday cake that will be a gigantic hit at your party.
Where to find the M&M’s You Will Need

Step 1: M&M’s. We used Dark Pink and Light Pink colored M&M’s to create our Peppa Pig M&M Cake. The Dark Pink M&M’s were from the special Valentine’s Bag of M&M’s and the Light Pink M&M’s are from the Easter Bag of M&M’s. We always stock up on bags of these special “holiday” M&M’s so we can use these non-traditional M&M colors on projects throughout the year. (Two Sisters Tip: We’ve had great luck finding holiday M&M’s up to 50% off in grocery stores in the week after a holiday is over.) But don’t worry if you haven’t started building up your own stash of holiday-colored M&M’s, you can find these dark and light pink colors of M&M’s at Party Supply stores like Party City, or Amazon, or other online candy warehouses. You’ll also need a handful of white M&M’s for Peppa’s eyes. (White M&M’s are also sold in the Valentine’s and 4th of July bag of M&M’s.). You’ll need a few red and brown M&M’s which you can get from a small pack of regular M&M’s.
How to Make the Frosting and Frost the Cake

Step 2: Next you will need to prepare 1-2 batches of our Best Buttercream Frosting (you will find the recipe and detailed directions here). If you have made a 9×13″ sheet cake or an 8″ double cake, a single batch of frosting will be fine. But you’ll probably need 2 batches of frosting for anything bigger than that.
Step 3: Color the frosting pink. We used 2 drops of Wilton Color Right Food Coloring to color the frosting a very light pink.
Step 4: Frost your cake. We used a basic two-layer round yellow cake. You can use a sheet cake, a pan of brownies, a store-bought cake … anything you want.
How to Decorate the Cake

Step 5: Now go to Google Images and find yourself a picture of Peppa Pig. Print it out so that the head fits on the top of your cake. Carefully, lay the print-out on the top of your frosted cake but don’t press down on it.
Step 6: Use a knife to lightly trace the outline of Peppa’s head into the frosting and then remove the print-out.

Step 7: Using your line as a guideline, use Dark Pink M&M’s to define the outside of Peppa’s head.

Step 8: Now use Dark Pink M&M’s to create Peppa’s ears. Her back ear is a little bigger than the front ear. Fill the empty space with Light Pink M&M’s.
Step 9: Using your picture as a guide for placement, create a small smiling mouth with Red M&M’s.
Step 10: Use White and Black M&M’s to make Peppa’s eyes.
Step 11: Use Dark Pink M&M’s to make Peppa’s cheek.

Step 12: Starting with the nose area – work to the right and fill in the rest of Peppa’s head with Light Pink M&M’s. That’s all there is to it. The longest part of the project was baking the cake. It took less than 30 minutes to frost and decorate our Peppa Pig M&M Cake and that includes the time it took to make the frosting. It was a great Smash Cake for the Birthday Girl at the Peppa Pig Birthday Party and it looked great with our Peppa Pig Frosted Sugar Cookies and Peppa Pig Cupcakes.
