Homemade Candied Pecans

These homemade Candied Pecans are super easy to make and boy are they delicious. Every time we’ve made them they were the first thing gobbled up from the Holiday buffet table. Pecans covered in sugar and cinnamon and vanilla and roasted in the oven to perfection. Sweet and salty and delicious, they also make a wonderful Holiday food gift for neighbors, co-workers or family friends. Two Sisters’ Thumbs are way up on this recipe!

How to make Candied Pecans
Step 1: Add the Sugars, Cinnamon, and salt to a bowl.
Step 2: Whisk together until combined.
Step 3: Add the Egg White, Water and Vanilla Extract to a separate bowl.
Step 4: Beat them until stiff peaks form.
Step 5: Add the pecans to the egg mixture.
Step 6: Gently toss to coat the pecans with the egg mixture.
Step 7: Add the Cinnamon/Sugar mixture to the bowl.
Step 8: Stir until the pecans are coated with the Cinnamon mixture.
Step 9: Line a Baking Sheet with a Silpat liner or aluminum foil. (Parchment paper is not ideal because the paper will shift around when you try to toss the pecans during the baking process.)
Step 10: Spread the pecans evenly on the Baking Sheet and bake the Candied Pecans in an oven preheated to 300 degrees for 45 minutes. Toss the pecans every 15 minutes to make sure they bake evenly.

- 4 cups of Pecans
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 large Egg White
- 1 teaspoon Water
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300.
- Line a Baking Sheet with a Silpat liner or aluminum foil. (Parchment paper is not ideal because the paper will shift around when you try to toss the pecans during the baking process.)
- Combine the Sugars, Cinnamon and salt in a bowl and set aside.
- Beat the Egg White, Water and Vanilla Extract until stiff peaks form.
- Add the pecans to the egg mixture and gently toss to coat the pecans.
- Add the Cinnamon/Sugar mixture and toss to coat the pecans.
- Spread the pecans evenly on the Baking Sheet.
- Bake 45 minutes. Toss the pecans every 15 minutes to make sure they bake evenly.
