Ssshhh …. don’t tell anyone but I don’t like pie. I don’t know what it is but I’m just not a pie person.  So every year I advocate for a non-pie Thanksgiving dessert.  This year I am requesting a batch of these gorgeous Harvest Marble Chocolate Chip Cookies. So pretty.  And they are Chocolate Chip Cookies so, of course, they taste great too. They are a yummy bite of Fall in one single and easy-to-make cookie. What a great dessert for a Fall Bake Sale, a neighborhood potluck, or just a random Sunday afternoon.  Happy Fall everyone!

Step 1: Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a mixer for 2-3 minutes.  Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until fluffy (approximately another 3 minutes.)  Add the Baking Soda and salt and mix just until combined. Finally, add the flour and mix just enough to get the flour mixed with the rest of the cookie dough.

Step 2: Separate the cookie dough into three equal portions. (We used a food scale but you can eyeball it if you don’t have one.)
Step 3: Color two of the portions of cookie dough Orange and Brown.  Add 1/3 of the bag of chocolate chips to each portion of dough.

We used Wilton Color Right food coloring to color the cookie dough.  Here are the food coloring combinations that we used:

Orange – 5 drops of Orange and 2 drops of Crimson.
Brown – 5 drops of Brown and 1 drop of Red.

Step 4: Using a food scale, we measured 2.0 oz. of cookie dough for each cookie.  I randomly added pieces of orange, brown, and white cookie dough to the food scale until it weighed 2 ounces.  Sometimes I used more of one color than the others. There is no right or wrong combination. The more random the pieces of dough, the prettier the cookie will be. Slightly press the cookie ball down onto the cookie sheet and then bake the cookies in an oven preheated to 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
