Halloween Hot Vanilla Milk
Throw out the Hot Chocolate for Halloween Night and make up a batch of this delicious Halloween Hot Vanilla Milk – warm, sweet, and best of all, NO CAFFEINE.
It’s probably not surprising to hear from a blog called Two Sisters Crafting that family is important to us. We were raised in a loving household by a mom who instilled in us a strong sense of family and tradition. Every year our holidays were the same. We had traditions that were silly, and fun, and important. Most of those traditions we have carried on and are now doing with our own family. One of the fun things we do at Halloween is every night leading to Halloween, we do some sort of activity. We will watch a movie, carve a pumpkin, or have a “spooky” dinner. One of the newer traditions we have added is Halloween Hot Vanilla Milk. Last winter, we did a Frozen-inspired Olaf’s Warm Hug Hot Vanilla Milk. It was a BIG hit with my daughter. Even in the middle of summer, she was still asking for Olaf’s milk. Laurie and I thought it might be fun to do hot vanilla milk for Halloween. I just know after a long night of trick-or-treating (and too much chocolate) it will be the perfect beverage to top off our Halloween night.
How to Decorate the Glass
Step 1: It is not a celebration without sprinkles, so let’s start with a little decoration on the Hot Vanilla Milk glass. Melt a handful of White Chocolate Chips or White Melting Wafers in the microwave.
Step 2: Dip the rim of the glass into the melted chocolate and then lightly place the white chocolate into the sprinkles. So easy! So pretty!
How to Make the Halloween Drink
Step 3: For a single serving, add 2 cups of milk to a saucepan. Add sugar to taste. We usually use about half as much as shown here, about 1 1/2 tsp. That seems about right. You can even go old-school and leave out the sugar. Our grandmother had a glass of warm milk nearly every night of her adult life and lived to the ripe old age of 93. Now add vanilla. We added 2 teaspoons. We love vanilla. So again, adjust to fit your own love of vanilla. Stir until the sugar and the vanilla are mixed.
Step 4: Add a tiny drop of orange food coloring to give it that fun Halloween feel. Finally, heat on a low setting until it is hot. Stir occasionally to keep a film from forming on the top of the milk.
Serving Instructions
Steps 5-6: Pour this delicious Halloween Hot Vanilla Milk into a coffee mug and top with some whipped cream and sprinkles. So pretty! And so delicious. This Halloween Hot Vanilla Recipe couldn’t be easier or yummier. It tastes just like hot melted ice cream. When the kids get home from trick or treating – cold, tired, and full of chocolate, this fun Halloween drink will really hit the spot. And as an added benefit there is no caffeine to keep them up! That’s a Two Sisters Crafting win.
