Ingredients You Will Need
How to Make the Marshmallow Mixture
Step 1: Melt the butter in a large saucepan on medium-low heat.
Step 2: Add 5 cups of Mini Marshmallows to the melted butter. On medium-low heat, stir the mixture until the marshmallows are completely melted.
Step 3: When the marshmallows are melted, take the pan off the heat.
Adding the Fruity Pebbles Cereal
Steps 4-5: Add the Fruity Pebbles Cereal to the marshmallow mixture and gently fold the cereal into the marshmallow mixture.
Steps 6-7: Add 1 cup of Mini Marshmallows to the mixture and fold until combined.
Assembly Instructions
Step 8: Spoon the mixture into a 9×13″ pan. (We line the pan with a piece of parchment paper to make it easier to remove the treats from the pan when they are cooled.)
Step 9: Lightly press the mixture into the pan and then let them cool.
Steps 10-11: Remove the treats from the pan and then cut them into squares.
Serving/Storage Instructions
Marshmallow Treats will last 2-3 days at room temperature in an air-tight container before they start to get stale. You can extend that timeline a few days if you store them in the refrigerator and then take them out about 30 minutes before you eat them. They freeze up great though and that is what we do if we want to make these ahead of time for a party or a family gathering. They defrost very quickly and taste great once they are defrosted. You can keep them in the freezer for up to a couple of months.
