Frozen Sugar Cookie Bars
Laurie and I made Sugar Cookies Bars for Christmas. We loved the way they turned out so much we knew we wanted to try them for something else and I knew exactly what we should do – Frozen Sugar Cookie Bars! These Frozen sugar cookie bars are a prefect treat for a Frozen Birthday party – they could not be easier to make, they look beautiful in Frozen-color blue, and most importantly, they taste great!
How to make Frozen Sugar Cookie Bars
You will need:
- Sugar Cookie Bar ingredients (see recipe ingredients below)
- Best Buttercream Frosting
- Cookie Sheet
- Parchment Paper
- Americolor Sky Blue Food Coloring
- Americolor Royal Blue Food Coloring
- Wilton White Sparkling Sugar Sprinkles
Cream room temperature butter and granulated sugar until completely mixed and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
Finally, add flour and baking powder and mix until flour is completely incorporated in the Frozen Sugar Cookie Bar dough.
Cook the Frozen Sugar Cookie Bars in a cookie sheet. You can reduce brown edges by lining the cookie sheet with parchment paper. Turn out all of the Frozen Sugar Cookie Bar dough onto the prepared cookie sheet.
Press the dough out onto the cookie sheet as shown in the picture above. The dough will be sticky. If you butter your hands during this process, the dough will be easier to handle.
Bake the Frozen Sugar Cookie Bars in a 375 degree oven for 10-15 minutes. Do not overbake or you will have dry sugar cookie bars. The cookies are done when a toothpick comes out clean and the edges are a VERY light golden brown.
The cookie bars will be a little thicker than a traditional sugar cookie but will be lighter and fluffier.
While the Frozen Sugar Cookie Bars are cooling. Prepare some of our Best Buttercream Frosting (you will find the recipe and detailed directions here.) To create the three shades of Frozen blue, we used Americolor Sky Blue and Royal Blue Food Coloring in the following amounts:
- Light Blue – 1 Drop of Sky Blue Food Coloring
- Medium Blue – 2 Drops of Sky Blue Food Coloring
- Dark Blue – 3 Drops of Sky Blue Food Coloring and 1 Drop of Royal Blue Food Coloring
After we frosted the Frozen Sugar Cookie Bars, we added some Wilton White Sparkling Sugar Sprinkles for a little extra Frozen sparkle!
These Frozen Sugar Cookie Bars are so easy to make, very delicious to eat and will make a great treat for a Frozen Birthday Party. The Sugar Cookie Bar is a fun variation on a sugar cookie and when paired with our yummy buttercream frosting, these Frozen-themed cookies will be the first thing to go on your dessert table.
