Ingredients You Will Need
How to Prepare the Apples
Step 1: Peel, core, and chop the apples into fairly large chunks. Add the chopped apples to a medium mixing bowl. Sprinkle the apples with lemon juice to keep them from browning.
Step 2: Add the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of flour to the mixing bowl.
Step 3: Gently fold the apples with the sugar and flour mixture until well-coated.
Step 4: Pour apples into a 9×13″ baking dish and set aside.
How to Make the Cobbler Topping
Step 5: In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
Step 6: Slightly beat the egg in a small bowl.
Step 7: Pour the egg into the flour/sugar mixture and mix until combined. The mixture will be crumbly.
Step 8: Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the apples.
Baking Instructions
Step 9: Melt the butter and pour it over the topping.
Step 10: Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 40-45 mins until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
Serving/Storage Instructions
Step 11: Serve the Apple Cobbler hot out of the oven, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a swirl of whipped cream. So yummy! Apple Cobber can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. It tastes best if you re-heat it in the oven while covered with aluminum foil.
