Ingredients You Will Need
How to Make the Marshmallow Mixture
Step 1: Melt the butter in a large saucepan on medium-low heat.
Step 2: Continue heating the butter and stirring until you have Brown Butter. If you’ve never made Brown Butter you can find detailed instructions on How to Make Brown Butter right here.
Step 3: Add the 5 cups of Mini Marshmallows to the brown butter.
Step 4: Stir the marshmallows until they are covered in the melted brown butter. Make sure to get all the delicious brown butter bits off the bottom of the pan and onto the marshmallows. Continue to stir until the marshmallows are completely melted. As soon as they are melted, take the pan off the heat.
Adding the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal
Step 5: Add the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal to the pan.
Step 6: Add one cup of Mini Marshmallows to the mixture.
Step 7: Fold together until the cereal and the extra marshmallows are covered in the brown butter marshmallow mixture.
Assembly Instructions
Step 8: Spoon the mixture into a 9×13″ pan. We line the pan with parchment paper to make the treats easier to remove.
Step 9: Lightly press the mixture into the pan.
Steps 10-11: Let the Marshmallow Treats cool and then cut them into squares.
Storing/Serving Instructions
Marshmallow Treats will last 2-3 days at room temperature in an air-tight container before they start to get stale. You can extend that timeline a few days if you store them in the refrigerator and then take them out about 30 minutes before you eat them. They freeze up great though and that is what we do if we want to make these ahead of time for a party or a family gathering. They defrost very quickly and taste great once they are defrosted. You can keep them in the freezer for up to a couple of months.
