We made bite-sized Chocolate Cookies so the M&M Flower would cover most of the cookie. To make sure the cookies were all the same size, I measured out .5 ounces of dough for each cookie.
Roll the chocolate cookie dough into a ball and slightly press down the cookie dough ball on the cookie sheet.
Bake the cookies in a 350 degree oven for 7-8 minutes and then allow them to cool.
For the M&M Flowers we used Blue, Yellow, Green White, Pink and Purple M&M’s. You can buy specific color M&M’s at Party City and online candy warehouse sites. We used the white from the Red White and Blue M&M mix and the Pink and Purple from the Valentine’s colored M&M’s. We always stock up on bags of these special “holiday” M&M’s so we can use these non-traditional M&M colors on projects throughout the year. (Two Sisters Tip: We’ve had great luck finding holiday M&M’s up to 50% off in grocery stores in the week after a holiday is over.) . Now you need to make a half batch of our amazing The Best Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. It is so creamy and yummy and tastes great on these chocolate cookies. You can find the detailed directions right here.
Use a knife to frost the Chocolate Cookies with the Chocolate Buttercream Frosting and then press the M&M’s onto the chocolate frosting in the flower pattern shown in the image above. Each cookie with have 7 M&M’s – 6 for the petals and 1 for the center of the flower.
When choosing the color palette for your Flower Pretzel Bites we’ve found that repeating a single coordinating color in all of the versions really ties them together as a whole and enhances how they look on the plate. For this version, we used the pink centers with the different colored petals and then used green for the center with pink petals.
And boy do these Chocolate Cookies with M&M Flowers taste chocolate-y and delicious. And the extra crunch from the M&M is a super great addition to this mini cookie.

- Chocolate Cookies dough
- 1/2 batch of our The Best Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
- M&M's in various colors
Instructions
- Make a batch of our Chocolate Cookies dough.
- Measure .5 oz of cookie dough for each cookie.
- Roll the chocolate cookie dough into a ball. Slightly press down the cookie dough ball on the cookie sheet.
- Bake the cookies in a 350 degree oven for 7-8 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool.
- Make a half batch of our The Best Chocolate Buttercream Frosting and use it to frost the chocolate cookies.
- For each M&M flower you will need 7 M&M's. Press one in the center of the cookie and press the remaining six M&M's around the first M&M to make a flower pattern.
- Allow the cookies to set before you store them.
