Celebration Rice Krispie Treats

Our Celebration Marble Cupcakes have been a huge hit so we thought about what other dessert could we make using these pretty Spring/Easter colors. Everyone loves Rice Krispie Treats, right? Introducing our colorful and delicious Celebration Rice Krispie Treats. So delicious and so easy to make you’ll want to make these yummy marshmallow treats over and over again.
How to Make the Rice Krispie Treat Mixture
Step 1: The base for our Celebration Rice Krispie Treats is our Best Ever Rice Krispie Treat Recipe which we have adjusted and perfected over the years until it is now absolutely the best Rice Krispie Treat recipe we have ever tasted. You can all the directions you’ll need to make these delicious treats right here. For each batch of Rice Krispie Treat mixture we used 3 tablespoons of Butter, 3 Cups of Mini Marshmallows, and 3 Cups of Rice Krispie Cereal.
Coloring the Rice Krispie Treat Mixture
For each colored layer, we added the food coloring to the melted marshmallow mixture BEFORE adding the Rice Krispie Cereal. Here are the food coloring formulas we used to make these four pretty Spring colors:
Step 2: Purple = 6 drops of Pink Wilton Color Right Food Coloring and 2 drops of Blue.
Step 3: Yellow = 4 drops of Yellow Wilton Color Right Food Coloring
Step 4: Blue = 2 drops of Blue Wilton Color Right Food Coloring
Step 5: Pink = 2 drops of Pink Wilton Color Right Food Coloring
How to Make the Rice Krispie Treat Layers
Step 6: For each layer of Rice Krispie Treats, we poured the Rice Krispie Treat mixture onto a large cookie sheet and flatten the mixture into a row as shown above. Each row was about 4 inches wide and 1/2″ tall.
Step 7: Repeat the same process for the yellow layer.
Step 8: And the blue layer.
Step 9: And finally, the pink layer. And try not to let the rows touch each other in the cookie sheet of the colors will transfer onto each other.
Putting it All Together
Step 10: Once all four batches had been finished and had cooled, we stacked the layers of Rice Krispie Treats. Blue on the bottom, then purple, then pink, and finally yellow.
Step 11: With a sharp knife, cut the layered Rice Krispie Treat loaf in half, lengthwise.
Step 12: Now cut each smaller section into individual slices.
Step 13: So pretty and colorful … why have boring old white Rice Krispie Treats when you can have beautiful colored treats like these.
Expert Tips and FAQS
Allow the Celebration Rice Krispie Treats to cool before you store them. Store them in an airtight container and they will last for 3-4 days before they start to get too stale. You can freeze them for up to 3 months.

Ingredients
- 12 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal
- 12 tablespoons Butter (Salted, Sweet Cream)
- 12 cups Mini Marshmallows
- Wilton Color Right Food Coloring – Yellow, Blue, Pink
Instructions
You will need to make four batches of Rice Krispie Treat mixture - one for each of the four layers of the Rice Krispie Treats: Blue, Purple, Pink and Yellow.
Directions for a single layer for the Rice Krispie Treats
- Melt 3 tbsp. Butter in a medium pan.
- Add 3 cups of Mini Marshmallows and stir until the marshmallows are completely melted.
- Take the pan off the heat.
- Add food coloring and mix.
- Add 3 cups of Rice Krispie Cereal and mix until they are completely covered with the marshmallow mixture.
- Allow the Rice Krispie Mixture to cool slightly.
- For each layer pour the Rice Krispie Treat mixture into a large cookie sheet.
- Flatten the mixture into a 4” row.
- Follow the above directions for each of the four colors.
To assemble the Rice Krispe Treats:
- Once all four layers have cooled, stack the layers of Rice Krispie Treats. Blue on the bottom, then purple, then pink, ending with yellow.
- Cut the layered Rice Krispie Treat loaf in half and then into individual slices with a sharp knife.

Food Coloring Formulas
Purple = 6 drops of Pink Wilton Color Right Food Coloring and 2 drops of Blue.
Yellow = 4 drops of Yellow Wilton Color Right Food Coloring
Blue = 2 drops of Blue Wilton Color Right Food Coloring
