Ambrosia … nectar of the gods. Ambrosia Salad … vintage potluck side dish that is always a crowdpleaser at a party. Mandarin Oranges, Pineapple Chunks, Maraschino Cherries, Marshmallows, and Coconut combine with Cool Whip and Sour Cream into one yummy and super easy to make fruit salad. This is one of those party recipes that is called a classic for a reason. Two Sisters thumbs way up on this one!

How to Make the Creamy Fruit Salad
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the Cool Whip and Sour Cream. Mix until combined.
Step 2: Add the drained pineapple, drained mandarin oranges, drained cherries, marshmallows, coconut, and marshmallows into the bowl.
Step 3: Carefully fold all ingredients until combined. Add the chopped nuts (we like to use Pecans but Walnuts work nicely also) and mix. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or for at least 2-3 hours so the flavors can meld together. Serve chilled with a sprinkle of nuts and topped with maraschino cherries.

Ingredients
- 1 can Pineapple Tidbits (20 oz.) (Drained)
- 1 can Mandarin Oranges (Drained)
- 1 container Cool Whip (8 oz.)
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 1 cup Sweetened Shredded Coconut
- 2 cups Mini Marshmallows
- 1/2 cup Chopped Nuts
- 1 cup Maraschino Cherries (drained)
- 1/2 cup Pecans (OPTIONAL)
Instructions
- Drain the Pineapple, Maraschino Cherries and the Mandarin Oranges.
- In a large bowl, combine the Cool Whip and Sour Cream. Mix until combined.
- Add pineapple, mandarin oranges, cherries, marshmallows, coconut, and marshmallows into the bowl.
- Carefully fold all ingredients until combined.
- Add the chopped nuts (we like to use Pecans but Walnuts work nicely also) and mix.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or for at least 2-3 hours so the flavors can meld together.
- Serve chilled with a sprinkle of nuts and topped with maraschino cherries.
Notes
If stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container, the Ambrosia Salad should last 2-3 days.
