How to Assemble the Party Dip

Step 1: Heat the Refried Bean in a pot on medium heat, stirring occasionally. Add Taco Seasoning to the beans and stir until the Taco Seasoning is thoroughly mixed with the beans. Then remove the beans from the heat and allow them to cool back to room temperature. While the beans are cooling, make a batch of our yummy Homemade Guacamole, grate the cheese, deseed and dice the tomatoes, chopped the Green Onions, and slice the Olives.
Step 2: Spread the cooled Refried Beans into the bottom of a 9×13″ pan.
Step 3: Spread the Guacamole over the Refried Beans.
Step 4: Spread the Sour Cream over the Guacamole.

Expert Tips and FAQ’s

What kind of Taco Seasong should you use?

We used McCormick Original Taco Seasoning but if you like things a little spicer you could use the extra hot version (or even a homemade Taco Seasoning mix.)

Storage Tips

7 Layer Dip needs to be refrigerated until you serve it because of the Sour Cream and you can’t leave it out too long on a hot day or at an outside get-together for the same reason.  And because of the Guacamole, this is definitely an “assemble right before you serve” party dip.  But you can do all the other prep work ahead of time and layer it into the pan to right before you serve the dip.  Easy Peasy.
